Highlights from the Master Class
Days after Rose Inc.’s inaugural master class, founder Rosie Huntington-Whiteley reflects on an incredible afternoon—and the month ahead
What a rush.
Last week, we held Rose Inc.’s first-ever makeup master class, powered by bareMinerals. It felt a little bit like magic, honestly, for so many reasons. It was thrilling to imagine an afternoon for the beauty-obsessed, then see it come together piece by piece. Two of my favourite makeup artists, Nikki DeRoest and Katie Jane Hughes, shared insider secrets even I hadn’t heard before. For instance, Nikki advised using burgundy mascara for day, as it looks a bit softer than black. Genius.
The best part of the afternoon, by far, was the opportunity to meet so many of you. Just before the event started, I peeked outside and saw a line of people waiting to enter—a very stylish and good-looking crowd, I must say. And I had a moment of gratitude for the beauty community we’re building together. You made the day so special, including those of you who were “there” on social media. Here’s to more face-to-face time in the future.
In the meantime, there’s a lot to come in the month ahead. Thanks to your encouragement and support, Rose Inc. will be publishing more, more, more! Among our November highlights are video tutorials with hairstylist Jen Atkin and makeup artist Kara Yoshimoto Bua—two women whose work never fails to inspire me. Hairstylist James Pecis (his recent work in Vogue Paris is incredible) has given us a peek into his kit, and you’ll also get to know Mandana Dayani, my favorite Manolo-wearing get-out-the-vote activist.
Speaking of which… for my American friends, this Tuesday is election day. I encourage you to put on your power lipstick shade—and then, VOTE! Because, if you ask me, making your voice heard is a deeply beautiful thing.
