How to get Snapchat-filter skin IRL

Rosie Kjh10

With a quick swipe of the thumb, a Snapchat filter instantly makes your skin look like it’s lit from within. The right makeup techniques can do that, too, as Katie Jane Hughes so deftly proves in this video. Watch as one of RHW’s go-to makeup artists demonstrates her application prowess, highlights a few key products, and shares her secrets for a truly flawless complexion—no filter necessary.

Products used:

Bioderma Sensibio H2O Makeup Remover, Dr. Barbara Sturm Glow Drops, Glossier Stretch Concealer in Medium, Laura Mercier Flawless Fusion concealer, Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Sheer Colour, Nars Narsissist Wanted I palette, Glossier Boy Brow, Suqqu Brow Pen, and Rosie for Autograph lipstick in Rose Lace.

Great video to create a beautiful everyday look. What is the fluffy concealer brush Katie used? Thanks!

Hey Britta! We’ll check, but some of KJH’s go-to brushes include Bodyography Pro Tapered Blending Brush, Nars the Brightener, and Jenny Patinkin Kitten Paw brush (which she has used to apply concealer on RHW before). —Team Rose Inc.

Love this tutorial, but honestly whoever was filming this is terrible. It looks like it was filmed on a phone camera. The camera is moving around, all over the place, it makes me so dizzy and I can’t take a good look at the make up at all. Please stop making video like this! I think makeup tutorials should have only one camera angle!
    Thank you!!

I really like the way this video was done, kinda like a friend recording you getting ready for a night out. Also, love the headline of this story – brilliant!

I love tutorial videos like this because it really makes it easy to follow along step by step but I do agree that whoever filmed this made it really hard to watch and I do feel very dizzy.

Thanks for the feedback, Heather. We hear what you’re saying and we hope you’ll stick with us—we’re filming some more videos this week and will keep your thoughts in mind. –Team Rose Inc.
